Lar MacGregor

Lar lives near Beauly in the Scottish Highlands and as well as working on her own art practice, she delivers workshops, training and project facilitation with a number of organisations including the Workers Educational Association, Inverness Museum & Art Gallery and The Life Changes Trust .

Lar graduated from Inverness College UHI in 2018 with a first class degree BA (Hons) Contemporary Art and Contextualised Practice)

Lar’s writing has been published online and in print in Art North Magazine where she was also an Assistant Editor. Her Wayfaring Project was first explored in her honours year at the University of the Highlands and Islands and was developed further during a two month residency at Caladar Arts in 2019.

Lar’s thoughts on her walking practice were published as part of the Walking Art/Walking Aesthetics project in Interartive , an online magazine that serves as a platform for contemporary art and thought. (Walking Art/Walking Aesthetics)

Her writing was also included in in Critical Moss: Art Beyond the Bubble published by academic Aldobranti Fosco-Fornio as a part of his research into how emerging artists survive and thrive outside of London. Aldobranti's exploratory book was published in the spring of 2020 and is the forerunner to his continuing project called, Critical Moss - Making Art Work Outside The Metropolitan Bubble.
